If you didn’t expect it, the overlay of the music would catch you off-guard. Even that winning sound could have been better. It sounds rushed and old-school (which would have been more understandable if they did a retro theme).
The winning animation is also good in its own way. You get a message like «You’re Rockin» or «You Beauty» at the top and the winning combination would flash repeatedly until you are ready to start playing. You have enough time to suck up the win.
The gameplay is nothing out of the ordinary – just your usual spin and win. But if you have a thing for Mayan slots, you’ll surely love this game. This is where players get a little confused about this game. Unlike your regular slots that have distinctive symbols for Wilds and Scatters, Sun and Moon doesn’t make it like that. In this game, the Wild symbols are also the Scatters – the same golden sun and blue moon.
When they land on the reel, they act as both at the same time – substituting for other symbols to make up your winning combination and at the same time, paying out irrespective of where it lands on the reels.
But if your winning combination has a scatter symbol in it, it is multiplied by your total bet as opposed to the bet per line.
This game doesn’t have an exclusive bonus round per se but it comes with its own fair share of bonuses. From an expert’s point of view we have reasons to believe that Aristocrat could have done better with both the Return To Player (RTP) and variance of this game. It has an RTP of 92.07% and a low variance.
First, RTP is a bit below average by industry standards. At the very least, we at FreeSlots99 believe that the minimum that providers should target is 95%. But even if it is this low, the variance should compensate for it, isn’t it? That isn’t really the case with Sun and Moon.
