Ba Fang Jin Bao Fortune Totems Slot Review
Written by: Filip Gromovic Reviewed by: Nashon Khamala
Ba Fang Jin Bao Fortune Totems saves its big hits for the free games, where the Gold Symbol multiplier starts at 2x and has no ceiling. Outside the bonus, the Konami slot runs a standard 5×3 grid with 243 ways. Every gold ingot that drops still gives a shot at a 4-level jackpot.
The online version landed in February 2024 and adapts a base game from Konami’s Ba Fang Jin Bao series, a linked progressive built for casino floors. Volatility is rated high, one notch above Konami’s China Shores (medium, 96.1% RTP). Bets start at $0.88.
Truth is, nobody has published an RTP or max win for the online version. So the free demo is your best first stop to see the free games and the jackpot pick before real money goes in.
Play Ba Fang Jin Bao Fortune Totems Demo for Free
The free demo runs on play credits, so every spin, free game and jackpot pick in it costs you nothing. Finding one is the hard part. Some free-slot sites run it, while some game databases still list the demo as unavailable or coming soon.
Use a demo session to learn both bonus triggers before your bankroll is on the line. Here’s what we’d watch:
- Set the bet. The online minimum is $0.88, and the listed maximum is $88 or $440.
- Watch reels 2, 3 and 4. That’s where the gold ingot wild lands, and each one is a shot at the Jackpot Feature.
- Count scatters. Three gets you 7 free games, four gets 9, five gets 18.
- Choose the Gold Symbol. You pick it as free games start. On paper the dragon wins, at 500 coins for five of a kind.
- Follow the multiplier. It starts at 2x and adds 1x after every win your Gold Symbol joins.
Too many numbers to juggle? The key facts below put them in one table.
Ba Fang Jin Bao Fortune Totems Key Facts
In short: a 243-ways base game, free games that reach 3,125 ways, and no published RTP. The jackpot trigger, land-based cabinets and bet limits are in there too.

| Online release | February 12, 2024 |
| Grid | 5 reels x 3 rows |

| RTP | Not published for the online version |
| Minimum bet | $0.88 |
| Maximum bet | $88 or $440 (sources differ) |

| Technology | HTML5 |
Those big numbers come from two features. Here’s how each one plays.
Ba Fang Jin Bao Fortune Totems Bonus Features
There are two bonus rounds, and they trigger differently: scatters open the free games, while gold ingots give a chance at the Jackpot Feature. The first you can see coming. The second is pure chance.
Free Games and the Gold Symbol Multiplier
Three, four or five scatters award 7, 9 or 18 free games. Before the first free spin, you pick one symbol as your Gold Symbol. Each time it lands, it expands to fill its whole reel. The round itself can run on up to 3,125 ways to win.
Any win that includes your Gold Symbol gets multiplied. It starts at 2x and rises by 1x after each of those wins, with no cap, which is the whole point of this slot. Extra scatters in the round add free games, and you keep the same Gold Symbol.
Say you pick the dragon. Your first dragon win pays at 2x, the second at 3x and the third at 4x. Land five dragons on that third win, and the 500-coin paytable value becomes 2,000 coins.
The base game works with 243 ways, so the free games can offer almost 13 times as many. That gap tells you where the money is.
Ba Fang Jin Bao Jackpot Feature
Every gold ingot that lands gives a chance to start the Jackpot Feature. But the trigger is random, so a pile of ingots guarantees nothing. On the land-based machine, Konami ties higher bets to better jackpot odds.
Once it starts, 12 ingots appear on screen. You flip them one at a time, and the first jackpot value to show up three times is the one you win. Picking only stops at a match, so every triggered feature pays one of the four jackpots. No dead picks.
Here’s how it plays out. Four picks show two of one jackpot and two of another, so the next pick that repeats either value ends the feature and pays it.
Fixed or progressive? Online listings can’t agree: one slot database shows four fixed jackpots, while one casino files the game under progressives. On casino floors, the four levels form a linked progressive.
Real-money spins on these features start at $0.88. The casino list further down shows where the game is offered in your country.
Fortune Totems Symbols and Payouts
The dragon tops the paytable, and wins pay for matching symbols on three or more adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel. The four animals below are the highest payers, in coins. The last column shows five of a kind as your Gold Symbol at 4x, the number that matters.
| Symbol | 3 of a kind | 4 of a kind | 5 of a kind | 5 as Gold Symbol at 4x |
| Dragon | 60 | 100 | 500 | 2,000 |
| Lion | 35 | 75 | 225 | 900 |
| Turtle | 30 | 70 | 175 | 700 |
| Fish | 25 | 50 | 120 | 480 |
- Gold ingot (wild): lands on reels 2, 3 and 4 and stands in for every symbol except the scatter and the jackpot symbols. Each one is also a shot at the Jackpot Feature.
- Scatter: three, four or five trigger 7, 9 or 18 free games, and more of them in the round add extra free games.
It’s no-frills to look at: the symbols sit on a solid red backdrop. The name does the theme work, since “Ba Fang” is Chinese for the eight points of the compass, meaning “all directions.”
Volatility and Bet Range
Fortune Totems is rated high volatility, a step above Konami’s China Shores and Light & Wonder’s Jin Ji Bao Xi Endless Treasure, both rated medium. The biggest payers are the uncapped multiplier and the four jackpots. Both depend on bonus triggers, not base-game wins, so expect a grind between them.
No RTP has been published for the online version, and slot databases list it as not available. China Shores lists 96.1% and Jin Ji Bao Xi Endless Treasure 95.73%. They tell you the odds; this one doesn’t.
The online minimum bet is $0.88, and the listed maximum depends on the source: $88 or $440. Konami’s Dimension 27 cabinet takes $0.88 to $8.80, so the online ceiling can be 10 to 50 times the land-based one.
Look, maximums are all over the place. Compare bet limits in the casino list below before you deposit.
Land-Based Machine vs Online Version
Online, you get the casino floor’s free-game rules, but a murkier jackpot and a far higher bet ceiling. The game began in Konami’s Ba Fang Jin Bao series, a four-level linked progressive. Konami showed it in 2019 with Fortune Totems and Abundant Fortune, both high volatility, and Joy of Riches later joined as a third base game.
On the floor, the series first ran on Konami’s KX 43 and Concerto Opus cabinets, then moved to the three-screen Dimension 27. There’s even a KP3+ version for Historical Horse Racing machines. The original linked progressive topped out at US$10,000.
| Feature | Land-based machine | Online version |
| Jackpot | 4-level linked progressive | 4 jackpots, listed as fixed or progressive depending on the source |
| Bet range | $0.88 to $8.80 (Dimension 27) | $0.88 minimum, $88 or $440 maximum (sources differ) |
| Free games | Up to 18 | Up to 18 |
| Multiplier | Incrementing, no cap | Starts at 2x, +1x per Gold Symbol win, no cap |
| Top prize | US$10,000 linked progressive (original series) | Not published |
| Platform | KX 43, Concerto Opus, Dimension 27, KP3+ | HTML5 game at online casinos |
Konami lists the Dimension 27 game under both Class III and iGaming markets. The free-game rules don’t change: up to 18 free games and an uncapped Gold Symbol multiplier.

FAQ about Ba Fang Jin Bao Fortune Totems
Yes, as long as a demo is on offer. It runs on play credits, so free games and jackpot picks cost nothing. Access is patchy: some free-slot sites run it, while some game databases still list the demo as unavailable.
Up to 18 per trigger. Three, four or five scatters award 7, 9 or 18 free games, and scatters landing during the round top you up.
It starts at 2x and grows by 1x after every win that includes your Gold Symbol, with no cap. You pick the Gold Symbol as free games begin, and it fills its reel whenever it lands.
You can't force it. Every gold ingot that lands gives a random chance at the Jackpot Feature, and then you pick from 12 ingots until three show the same value. That jackpot pays. On the land-based machine, higher bets improve the odds.
The base game pays on 243 ways across 5 reels and 3 rows. Free games are where it opens up, with up to 3,125 ways.
Yes. Fortune Totems is rated high volatility, while Konami's China Shores sits at medium. China Shores also lists a 96.1% RTP, whereas Fortune Totems has none published.
Online, the minimum bet is $0.88. The maximum is listed at $88 or $440, depending on the source. On Konami's Dimension 27 cabinet, bets only run from $0.88 to $8.80.
That comes down to local law and the casino's license. Online availability is confirmed in New Jersey, Michigan and Ontario. Check the availability table above for rules by country, and the casino list for real-money options where you live.
Mostly. The free-game rules match: up to 18 free games and an uncapped Gold Symbol multiplier. The jackpots are the grey area, since the land-based machine links its four as a progressive, while online listings disagree on fixed or progressive.
The dragon, comfortably. Three, four or five dragons on adjacent reels from the left pay 60, 100 or 500 coins, and the lion follows at 35, 75 or 225 coins.
Conclusion: Who Will Enjoy Ba Fang Jin Bao Fortune Totems
Ba Fang Jin Bao Fortune Totems is for players who chase bonus rounds and jackpots, not steady base-game returns. The Gold Symbol pick, a multiplier with no cap and up to 3,125 ways in free games give the feature round its upside, and any gold ingot can open a four-level jackpot pick. Know the Ba Fang Jin Bao floor machines? The free-game rules online are identical.
It's a harder sell if you want a published RTP before betting real money. China Shores lists 96.1%; this game has released nothing. The $0.88 minimum is steep next to China Shores at $0.30, and high volatility sits a step above China Shores' medium.
Our advice? Start with the demo to see the Gold Symbol round and the ingot pick, then compare bet limits at the casinos above.
